LINGUA LITUANICA annual report

10th of January in LINGUA LITUANICA office was presented the annual report. During this meeting the progress made in the organization since 2013 were identified:

Project “Virtual Academy for third-countries nationals” was finished

Language Practice center LINGUA LITUANICA successfully finished the project “Virtual Academy for third-countries nationals”. This project aimed to change the traditional teaching curriculum by focusing on blended learning, developing third-countries nationals for self-learning and professional competence. In order to improve the integration of third-countries nationals into the society, training programs flexibility, versatility and options for enhancing innovation will be developed.

During the project third-countries nationals, who has a temporary or permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania were invited to participate in five e-learning courses (which were developed and placed in virtual learning environment Moodle): E-learning course of General Lithuanian language, E-learning course of Constitution of the republic of Lithuania, E-learning course of Conflict management basics, E-learning course of Lithuanian culture basics, E-learning course "E - services for third-country nationals”. These courses attended about 260 participants. We are grateful for all LINGUA LITUANICA team for the help with this project’s implementation.

Practical Lithuanian language editing courses were organized

LINGUA LITUANICA in 2013 (April and November) organized Lithuanian language editing courses. These courses were attended by 140 participants from different institutions such as the State Patient Fund, the European Central Bank, the Bank of Lithuania, Lithuanian Air Force, Army Logistics Command Lithuania Garrison Support Service, Lithuanian army Training and Doctrine Command, Ministry of Communications regulatory Authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National planning and Construction Inspectorate, Ministry of Finance, the State Energy Inspectorate, the State Road transport Inspectorate, General Jonas Zemaitis military Academy of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Constitutional Justice, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of the Prime Minister's Office, Klaipeda State Seaport Authority and many others. A significant percentage of visitors participate in the course constantly.

Seminars for the European Parliament translatorsand editors were organized

Language Practice center LINGUA LITUANICA held a video conference for the European Parliament translators and editors. The conference theme-administrative texts editing. Seminars were led by assoc. dr.. Rasuolė Vladarskienė and Rita Urnėžiūtė.

Six cultural events were arranged

8th of April was an artist and photographer Evelina Matusevičiūtė-Tamkvaitienės exhibition opening. In November, LINGUA LITUANICA students and teachers visited the Annunciation Monastery. The sisters told the history of the monastery, showed the church and all together we tasted delicious tea. 21 st of November – cultural event to honor the famous Russian film director Andrei Tarkovsky was held. Commemoration ceremony attended by well-known photographers, poets, directors. To this event arrived representatives of the Cultural Heritage Department as well. 12 th of December was the artist Valdonija Karaliūnienė exhibition opening.

LINGUA LITUANICA month of kindness was organized

The entire month of October Language Practice Center LINGUA LITUANICA promote to participate in action “October – month of kindness”. The students, lecturers and our friends donated money to animal protection organization. All together we have collected  1844 litas! 8th of November LINGUA LITUANICA community visited animal protection organization “Tautmilės prieglaudėlė” and donated collected money.

During this meeting the lecturers expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the organization and shared their ideas about the latest teaching methods. The training for employees of modern technologies in the workplace were supported as well.
