FRENCH LANGUAGE TEACHER

 

Education

In 2020 completed Master’s degree in Education for secondary French (PGCE) at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom, and was awarded the Qualified Teacher Status.

In 2019 completed Bachelor’s Degree in English Philology, Civilisation and Literature at the University of Pau in France.

From September 2018 to January 2019 completed an Erasmus Exchange program from the University of Pau to Newcastle University.

Teaching experience

  • Teaching at Whitley Bay High School (UK) from January to April 2020.

Duties: Teaching French to pupils from age 13-18 in class, in smaller groups of 5 and in 1-1. Created engaging lessons. Took part in language department meetings and teacher trainings.

 

  • Teaching at Washington Academy (UK) from September to December 2019.

Duties: Teaching French to pupils from age 11-15. Maintained and enforced high standards for classroom behaviour.

 

Projects

  • Completed a cross-subject Lesson Study:  Created and taught a thinking skills lesson while being observed by a peer teacher with the aim to analyse the benefits of teaching metacognition strategies to students.
  • Created a mini-curriculum based on research in teaching listening. Then applied it to the classroom and after each lesson evaluated and adapted the curriculum to fit the needs of students.

Other activity

  • Vice-president of the association “Bien Vivre à Villefranque” (FR) from 2015 to 2018.

Duties: Organise and plan events for the town and design of posters and advertisements.

French – native proficiency, English – fluent proficiency (obtained IELTS 7.5 in 2019), Lithuanian – limited proficiency, Spanish – limited proficiency.
